Many 60s designs have influenced the design concepts of many common modern-day houses. The framed long slim-line look of these house is often replicated in today's architecture. These houses were designed around the concept of being square/rectangular and therefore created an easy method of building houses, as no-curves meant less waist. The were also less-cluttered than 50s houses, usually consisting of a single ornament instead of 2 or 3. A much of the furniture followed the concept of consitent, long lines.
This consistent, long lined look was not just evident on exteriors, yet also interiors. Uses of warm colours and wood helped make the house feel more like a home. Indoor plants (both fake and real) were used to connect the indoors with nature outside. Funky shag rugs felt awesome underfoot, especially throughout the winter months.
